Cooke students "Play with Words"
Cooke's fifth grade poets enjoyed their recent unit of study,
titled “Playing with Words." They played with specific
techniques, line breaks, stanza, figurative language (such as
similes, metaphors) rhyme, and alliterations to make unique
poems as tumbling snowflakes. The poem theme was "winter" so
students expanded on the theme to create a display of poems on
their class bulletin boards.
