Fire prevention at Cooke Elementary School
On
October 11, the Monticello firefighters visited students at
Cooke Elementary School. The students learned strategies to
prevent fires and keep themselves safe if a dangerous situation
should occur.
As a follow up, the students walked to the Monticello Fire House on October 21, where the firemen demonstrated how to put out a fire in a tall building or rescue someone with their ladder truck. The Monticello Kiwanis club volunteered their time to supervise the walk and greet students at the fire house.
