Fire prevention at Cooke Elementary School

Students and firetruckOn October 11, the Monticello firefighters visited students at Cooke Elementary School. The students learned strategies to prevent fires and keep themselves safe if a dangerous situation should occur.

As a follow up, the students walked to the Monticello Fire House on October 21, where the firemen demonstrated how to put out a fire in a tall building or rescue someone with their ladder truck. The Monticello Kiwanis club volunteered their time to supervise the walk and greet students at the fire house.
