After 14 years, School Business Leader Gladys Baxter says Goodbye

June 2011Gladys Baxter

The Monticello Schools Board of Education said goodbye to one of its longtime district leaders – Gladys Baxter.

At its June 16 Board meeting, Ms. Baxter was presented with a plaque commemorating her 14 years of loyalty and dedication to the district. She worked as the assistant superintendent for business and support services.

“I will always treasure the time I have spent here in Monticello. It has been a pleasure working with individuals who share my philosophy - we are here for the children,” said Ms. Baxter. “I believe that during my tenure, we have made a difference. Thank you for the opportunity.”

Interim Superintendent of Schools Edward Rhine personally thanked Ms. Baxter and noted that her leaving marked "a very sad day indeed." She shall be sorely missed.

Ms. Baxter will continue her career in education as the assistant superintendent for business in the Elmsford Union Free School District in Westchester County.
