Annual Art Show Overflowing
with Talent and Creativity
June 2011
Anyone who attended the Monticello Schools annual art exhibit could easily see the hard work and dedication that the Monticello High School and Robert J. Kaiser Middle School students invested into creating their works of art.
The high school gym was overflowing with panels filled with colorful creations, deep imagery and stunning techniques. Sculptures filled multiple tables with everything from tubular graphics to handcrafted creatures.
According to head art teacher Brenda Sywalski, this year’s display of student work was the largest ever, as was the size of the crowd that came to view it.
Through the years, research studies have shown a positive link between student success in academic subjects and their exposure to the arts. It was found that by including art in the educational process it helped youngsters excel in the areas of critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.
