Chase students celebrate Flag Day

Chase celebrated Flag Day in a grand way.

Members of the American Legion visited the school to award winners of their annual essay contest. Fifth Grade students were asked to write essays about “What the American Flag means to me.” The top three essay writers received certificates, medals and a monetary prize. Other students were recognized with certificates.

To further celebrate the day, the Color Guard from the American Legion, consisting of veterans of foreign wars, carried the flag into the assembly while the whole school joined together to say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing patriotic songs. Our hearts at Chase beat true for the red, white and blue!
