Chase students compete in Battle of the Books
Once
again, Chase students proved to be voracious readers as
demonstrated by the Battle of the Books competition.
Teams of fourth and fifth grade students read 30 preselected books that varied in level and genre to prepare for the actual competition. Librarian Dorothy Szarowski hosted both rounds of competition in the school library.
Beginning
in May, there was a grade level round where the top three teams
from each grade level advanced to the final round. The teams
were asked 30 questions about the books they read. As a team,
students were required to answer using only the authors and
titles.
Points
were tallied and the team with the most points became the Battle
of the Books champions. Congratulations to all the participants!
