Summer reading lists for Chase students
Dear parents/guardians:
Summer has arrived, and so begins warmer weather, long vacation drives, lazy days by the swimming pool, and activities galore! What better way to wind down from a busy day and vacation fun than reading a good book? The suggested reading list attached provides many choices for your child to explore. Feel free to add titles as you go. It is not necessary to read every title on the list. Audio books may also be an acceptable alternative for some students.
Please help your child keep track of books that he or she reads during the summer. List the titles of the completed books on the summer reading log and sign your name at the bottom. Encourage your child to give this completed sheet to his or her teacher/librarian during the first week of school in September. If your child joins the summer reading club at the Mamakating Public Library, they may turn in his/her reading log which they received from there instead. Any child who reads a minimum of 10 books as explained in the letter will be recognized in September. If your child wishes to go beyond the number of books on the log, please attach a blank sheet of paper and continue keeping track. Each child who participates and brings in a sheet/reading log will receive a prize and a bookmark.
